Welcome to the 2008 National Primary Oral Health Conference website. The meeting is scheduled for November 9-13, 2008 at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center.

Overview
The National Network for Oral Health Access (NNOHA) in partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) is sponsoring the 2008 National Primary Oral Health Conference. This year's conference will focus on the best practices in providing oral health care services to low-income and disadvantaged populations served by Health Center Programs.

NNOHA was founded in 1991 to provide a support system for dental providers who care for patients in Health Centers. These providers understand that oral disease can affect a person's speech, appearance, health, and quality of life and that inadequate access to oral health services is a significant problem for low-income individuals. The members of NNOHA are committed to improving the overall health of the country's underserved individuals through increased access to oral health services. Currently there are more than 2,000 dentists and dental hygienists working in Health Centers nationwide. To find out more of who we are, click the following link (www.nnoha.org and www.hrsa.gov).

Call for Abstracts
The NNOHA Conference Planning Committee invites proposals for presentations at the 2008 National Primary Oral Health Conference (NPOHC). The purpose of the call for abstracts is to collect descriptive applications that identify, showcase and promote the replication of innovative and successful primary oral health care programs and management strategies. Accepted applicants may have their presentions included in NNOHA's resource library in print or video format for distribution. If an application is selected, one representative from the program will be asked to present the model/best practice at the NPOHC in Dallas, TX, between November 9-13, 2008. The presenter will receive complimentary conference registration. Multiple applications per catergory may be selected to present.
