Welcome to the 2007 National Primary Oral Health Care Conference website. The meeting is scheduled for December 9-13, 2007.
Overview
HRSA/BPHC sponsors the National Primary Oral Health Care Conference that focuses on best practices in providing oral health care services to low income and disadvantaged populations served by Health Center Programs. Access to oral health services is an integral component of the President's Health Center Initiative to increase access to primary health care in our Nation. HRSA's BPHC has engaged three oral health program strategies integrated within the President's Initiative:
- Establishment of new oral health care capacity in New Start Health Centers and in existing Community Health Centers that do not have oral health care capacity,
- Expansion of oral health care capacity in existing Community Health Centers, and
- Improvement in the quality of care and management of oral health care programs in Health Centers.
These three components of the HRSA/BPHC Oral Health Program are the themes of this National Primary Oral Health Care Conference. To find out more of who we are, click the following link: (link to picture album)
Call for Abstracts
The Primary Oral Health Care Conference Oral Health Service Expansion and Improving Quality in the Health Center Program - Best Practices and Models That Work is an integral component of the Health Resources and Services Administration's (HRSA) Oral Health Strategic Plan. The purpose of the call for abstracts is to collect descriptive applications that identify, showcase and promote the replication of innovative and successful primary oral health care programs and management strategies. By fostering the spread of solutions that are effective and successful in community oriented primary care programs, HRSA hopes to achieve the common goal of increasing access to primary oral health care, and improving oral health status in underserved and vulnerable populations, through information sharing and technical assistance. The applications submitted will form a Compendium of Best Primary Oral Health Care Practices that will be published and placed in a web based electronic repository that will be accessible to other community-based primary care organizations. For more information and to download an abstract application, please visit the Call for Abstracts page.
